Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central: New and planned functions 2024 Wave 1
Business Central is a business management application for small and medium-sized organisations and is used to accelerate and optimise business processes. Thanks to its high scalability and flexibility as well as its extensive functions, Business Central enables companies to manage their business areas of finance, supply chain, production, shipping, projects, services and more.
Business Central is continuously optimised and expanded to make it as easy and convenient to use as possible and to increase productivity at work. Helpful new features have also been added in the latest version:
- Faster customisation with Microsoft Power Platform: Workflows can now be set up more easily in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Comprehensive templates are provided that immediately support more scenarios so that companies can automate more processes and thus work more productively.
- Application: Particular attention was paid to improving project and service management functions. For example, consolidation has been improved for the finance area.
- Countries and regions: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is now available in more than 155 countries and regions.
- Development: Investments have been made in areas that improve productivity for developers working with GitHub, Visual Studio Code and AppSource Marketplace. New code refactoring features, simplified functional and performance testing, ISV and customised code with AL GO for GitHub have been added.
- Governance and administration: Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central offers a range of additional self-service features to help administrators manage more granular access to environments and monitor critical administrative operations using the Microsoft 365 Audit Log. This provides advanced options to strengthen data protection with customer-managed encryption keys and Azure Lockbox.
- Legislation: This version offers new functions for accessing VAT data when you preview the results of booking transactions. You will also find sustainability reporting, which supports you in sustainability reporting.
- Reporting and data analysis: Additional functions and ready-to-use Power BI and Excel layouts have been added to the analysis mode.
- Service and platform: Here, investments were made in the foundations of the service with a focus on high availability, performance, stability, resource management, security and compliance.
